I got to design baby blankets!

This is going to be a quick post – but I want to share that last year I took on a freelance project for Bean Town Blankets to design patterns for their new line of baby blankets. Now the most exciting part of the process has arrived – I can finally hold them in my hands! There are currently four different patterns to choose from (“Sand and Sea”, “Wonderland”, “Over the Moon”, and “Barn Yard”). Find them here!

I absolutely adore illustrating anything children’s-related, and I am especially happy that it was for a company driven by such a giving purpose. Their brand’s focus is on helping the homeless, and with each purchase from Bean Town Blankets, they send out another blanket to someone in need. For the baby blankets specifically, they donate to children’s hospitals, charities, and other nonprofits. If you’d like to check them out and support their cause, click here!

I’m sure I’m not the only designer who thinks this way, but I think seeing my designs printed on something I can physically hold is one of my favorite parts of the design process (and a favorite part of being a designer in general). It’s so rewarding to see a design on a useable object that people can use everyday, and knowing that the design is being used on something that also helps those in need is even more wonderful.
